“Anyone who isn’t happy with their nose will know that every time you look in the mirror, see a photo of yourself or look out the corner of your eye all you can see is this big ugly nose. Doesn’t matter what anyone says you know you hate it. I did this purely because i hated it. No ones ever bullied me for it- had the odd comment here and there but nothing major. Its been 3 months since I had the procedure and I only wish I did it earlier. Its still swollen on the tip, but even with the swelling I’m 10 times happier. It was a real straight forward procedure. Discussed what i wanted, then went ahead with it. The results make my face look a lot more feminine which obviously I’m happy with”.

“My story starts about 40 years ago when I started to be uncomfortable with the shape of my nose. My daughter had the surgery just before me (she is 21) and Chris D did such a fantastic job that I decided to have the surgery at 48. I didn’t look for a cheap deal as felt that reputation of the surgeon and aftercare was more than worth the money. My experience from the Nuffield Hospital including appointments and general was very professional. What to say about the result .. Chris did a fantastic job and I am 100% satisfied with the result after 3mnths. In fact it looked great when I took the dressing off at 7 days. All the staff I have come into contact with at the Nuffield, before, during and after my surgery without exception have been polite, friendly and helpful. Finally the new schnoz! “In June 2017 I had a closed Rhinoplasty at Nuffield Health York performed by Mr Dunkin. The decision to undergo the procedure was one I had spent years mulling over. From my first consultation with Mr Dunkin it was clear that he was extremely experienced and very knowledgeable. We discussed the different surgical options for me and he asked me what about my nose I wanted to change. Whilst the serious nature of the operation was not overlooked, during this consultation Mr Dunkin made the operation seem very manageable and almost simple. Having a rhinoplasty had always been a wishful aspiration of mine that I wasn’t sure would ever materialise, it only became a tangible goal after this first consultation with Mr Dunkin. I immediately felt as though I could trust Mr Dunkin to perform my rhinoplasty and being able to trust your surgeon entirely makes the experience a lot less stressful. My biggest concern going into surgery was the revision surgery rate. The hospital had provided me with an information sheet in which it listed the percentage of patients who feel they require further surgery as around 20%. I raised this with Mr Dunkin who reassured me that his revision rate was much lower and that the majority were for under-corrections. Mr Dunkin came to see me before the operation, his calm yet fiercely capable manner put me at ease once again and left me excited for my impending operation instead of the nervous wreck I had expected to be. My surgery went very well with no complications and lasted under 2 hours. Mr Dunkin was there when I woke up to reassure me again. I approached surgery with a healthy attitude, I didn’t have an image in my head of what I wanted my nose to look like and both pre and post-op I kept reminding myself that I wasn’t getting the perfect nose stuck on my face, I was just getting a different version of my nose. My nose now is beyond what I dared to dream it could be. I spent a lifetime shying away from all conversations about noses and avoiding photographs from the side, now I am only 3 months post-op and I can already feel my confidence growing. I am extremely glad that I chose Mr Dunkin as my surgeon as I cannot imagine being in a safer pair of hands. I wish to take this opportunity to thank Mr Dunkin and the whole team as I could not be happier with my outcome and my entire experience. As cliché as it sounds it truly has been life changing for me and my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner”!
